New: Water Filter Crock Diagrams

Some of our customers are a little confused how our stoneware water filtration crocks actually work without water pressure or power. To help understand how our water filter crocks work, we have just published some nifty diagrams. Each diagram reflects the different models of water crocks available.
The technology is actually quite old, dating back to 1835, when Sir Henry Doulton developed a ceramic filtration system for Queen Victoria, to address concerns of cholera and typhoid.
Our water filtration crock utilizes the same basic concepts with the benefit of modern filtration technologies. The resulting filter removes bacteria, aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, chloramines, chlorine, cysts, fluoride, lead, mercury, nickel, radionuclides, silver, tri-halomethane, VOC’s, zinc, and pharmaceuticals.
The filter works by using gravity. The top reservoir of our water crocks house the filter. When water is filled up in the top reservoir, it pushes down through the ceramic candle filter. Along the way, impurities are trapped before they finally reach the filter nozzle. The filtered water then drips down into the bottom reservoir, where it can be dispensed through the built-in spigot.
It’s a simple but effective concept, which is why it’s still in use nearly 200 years later!
